Linux RedHat 8.0 Tape Backup

hello all,
well here is my issue, i have a linux 8.0 redhat file server that i use to store all my cad drawings (about 80gb) what i need is backup software for linux and i am having a problem deciding what to use or trouble finding a suitable answer. Will linux recognize a tape drive and is there any software that will run a tape back on linux???

sorry i am also using this linux server as my pdc as well i don't know if that will matter.
