I have a PC with Windows 98. I am trying to install Linux Redhat 7.3 on a seperat Hard Drive that has been formatted. I have selected Grub as the boot loader. The entire installation process works fine until all of the packages have been installed and the computer begins the post installations tasks. At this point the computer freezes up and the mouse and keyboard no longer responds and the CD and Hard Drive stop spinning. What could this be?

Try running a media check on the CD that your using when it freezes. Boot from the CD. It tells you how to do it from the main menu.

Thanks for the tip!
I did a media check on all three CDs, but all of the CDs passed the media check. However, I tried to install it last night without a boot loader and the installation did not hang and I was able to boot up to Linux with a boot disk. Apparently my system would not install either GRUB or LILO.

Weird. You can still install them now you know.
