I have ppp setup on my Linux RH7 and RH7.2 servers. I have set the dial in address for ppp to 192.0.0.1 on both. I can dial in and I can telnet to the server however, I cannot get past the server on either machine. Now if I set the ppp address to 192.168.100.101 (Our scheme is 192.168.100.0 by the way) I can get to the rest of the network ok. I could use the above scheme (192.168.100.101) the problem is this is just a bridged connection and not an actual routed connection. This is relevent because at a few customer sites we have ppp setup on Linux RH servers with the ppp address at 192.168.100.101. We dial into the Customer via ppp and use net meeting to remotely take over a desktop. Some of these customers have Norton AV Corperate Edition installed which seems to block any request from netmeeting to take over a Windows desktop. I feel it may have to do with the fact that the connection is bridged and not routed and norton may see this as a melicious attaempt at a takeover. So I want to add a totally different subnet as my ppp address. problem is as mentioned above, I cannot get past the server to the rest of the network.
