What kind of Linux can I run on a P660-6M1 or a P650??? Also where can I get it?

Thanks

Thanks!!

now if I only had a spare $3,000 to buy it :)

There are no free versions out there that will work on a Pseries?

Thanks Again!

Linux for pSeries

SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 64-bit 64- and 32-bit
SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 7 64-bit 32-bit
Red Hat Linux 7.1 (64-bit) for pSeries 64-bit 32-bit
Turbolinux 6.5 for pSeries 64-bit 32-bit

From what I know, mostly the x86 versions are easily obtainable.

TurboLinux Server will only run on the xSeries. Their Enterprise server will run on the pSeries. Only $749 per year! :)

So you're sticking with AIX?

Yea I guess I am going to stick with AIX because I just wanted to mess around with Linux on a Pseries just for my own personal knowledge........

Me as well... maybe we have an option...

Check out
I never used Debian before - but the installation guide at the above link uses a p630.

Wow I will download it today and try loading it on one of my P660's , I may even try it on one of the LPAR's on my P650... I will let you know what happens once I get it loaded, or if I dont get it loaded...

Thanks for the link!!

you could always compile your own kernel, but i am not in any way suggesting that would be lots of fun. =)

IBM Certified -- AIX 4.3 Obfuscation

that is true could always do that but I have no clue on where to begin with that so Im not even going to attempt it :)
