Linux on network 1

i have just installed fedora core 2 on a system running win98 alongside but i can't access the network on the linux and i have provided all the information i provided in windows to assess the network and the internet.

IP: 192.168.0.8
SBNET NASK: 255.255.255.0
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.1
DNS: 216.185.64.6

the network device is detected and configured. eth0 andt activated. is there anyting i have not done to access the network and the internet?



 
Can you ping your gateway, or any other computers?

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
