Okay....so I have two computers: a wireless enabled laptop and a desktop. I know about m0n0wall and some of the other firewall livecd distros out there, but I am wondering if there is a distro aimed at providing routing functionality--more specifically a wireless bridge functionality.

Anybody know of anything?

The best option I can think of to offer (without doing any actual work to verify that there is a real solution to be had... ;-) ) is to download/install/run VMWare Player, then search their list of appliance machines for a routing solution.

Failing the pre-existence of such an appliance, you can also download (etc) VMWare Server to create a virtual appliance machine of your own, following what I'm certain is about a bazillion sets of instructions for creating a linux router box out there on the web.

...

Okay, did a minute's worth of legwork to find that at least one pre-configured appliance vm is available via VMWare.

Now, as for making a live-cd out of this appliance machine, not real sure what to recommend, but...

I'd be stunned if their weren't already many useful ideas out there about this.

Hope this is useful for you.
