Hi All

We are moving from a sun solaris 8 platform to linux red hat enterprise 4.

I am not too sure off the what the flavours are.. please can someone explain the following:-

The kernel flavor, uniprocessor, smp or
hugemem types

and the output from uname -a:-

[root@eurlinux01 etc]# uname -a
Linux eurlinux01 2.6.9-22.0.1.EL #1 Tue Oct 18 18:29:40 EDT 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

You are on the uniprocessor kernel.

The revision (uname -r) for hugemem would be 2.6.9-22.0.1.ELhugemem, and for smp would be 2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp.

What hardware are you running on?
