Hi,

I have a Windows 2000 based Active Directory domain. I am going to replace a file server on my network and instead of speding the extra dough to put Windows on the new box, I would like to use linux (most likely SuSE ver. 9). All the linux box is going to do is act as the file server for the Active Directory network, it will not host any applications. How hard is it to setup the linux box to be a member of the Active Directory and to get the Windows client machines to use the linux file server with their normal windows AD logon?

Thanks.

Check out Samba 3.0.

It has the ability to emulate a BDC in Active Directory, using both LDAP and Kerberos.
