linux dump or core

when linux freezes (kinda hard to believe) and you need to do hardboot does it do a dump or core, or if not are there options that we could select to do that similar to SunOS.
linux 7.3 on an intel platform.....

Linux doesn't directly support crash dumps unfortunately.
