I've tried to use the drivers that it comes with using probe, but cannot get into 1024x768 resolution. I tried different drivers but nothing worked. Anyone have this video card on Linux? what driver did you use?

what flavor of linux? what video card? monitor? details.........

RedHat AS3/ES, Kernel 2.4.21-4.EL,
video card --see top of message, S3 Trio64V2/GX (86C755/86C785), monitor is IBM G74, or I can use a IBM E74. both are 17" screens. not flat-panels.

Server is a Netfinity 5000.

I looked around Red Hats website and wasn't able to find anything that included 86C755/86C785. If there isn't a suitable driver, you may wish to look up the specs of the monitor and manually set the monitor. Horizontal/Vertical, X/Y..etc.... Found this at IBMs' website:

"Maximum addressability (pels) of 1280 x 1024
Maximum pixel rate (Mpels/sec) of 110
Horizontal frequency (kHz) of 30 - 69
Vertical frequency (Hz) of 50 - 120"

Here is the link where i found the information

Red Hat doesn't always provide the best hardware support, sometimes you have to manually configure. Hope this helps
