I have a linux server running RedHat 7.2 and i was wondering if i can place a access database file on it and have it work via a web page. I am new to database stuff in linux so anything would be helpful. I think i have mysql installed so that much is done. Thanks again, you guys are great

Hi,

You can certainly get MySQL working via cgi or php - its widely used already. Theres a tutorial here -->

In fact you can use any database supported by php / perl / whatever because its not really apache itself accessing the database manager. For example, php can talk to DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgresSQL, Oracle, Sybase, and most of the others too.

To talk to MS/Access if thats what you mean - you can probably do it with JDBC which is a java odbc implementation. See --> .

Hope this helps
