linux daemon design

does anyone know of any good daemon design resources for linux.

i'm trying to find out if there are standard methods or templates available.

Or you might try Squid(

it is so huge and great , the content you may concern is simple.Try download the 2.4.x release and find the watch_child() function in main.c file.

thats the sort of info i'm after. the watch_child code is just part of what i want. i'm gonna have to sift through the code though.

i'll take a look at the book.
