Hi !!!
I have a problem with a backup session, I trying to backup a linux client, which is in a DMZ.

First question
What port must be available to do a backup with a linux client in a DMZ ?

Second question
I probe a ping and it's ok, but I probe a rpcinfo and this error appear

rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Failed (unspecified error)

What is wrong? What must I do ?

A really huge amount of ports are opened ant it depends on many facts (such as parallelism, savesets ...).
There must be a chapter dedicated to firewalls in the admin guide.

Ports are listed in the "nsrla.res" file on the client side.

Thanks for your answer.

And what about the rcpinfo?

Do you know this error?

rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: RPC: Rpcbind failure - RPC: Failed (unspecified error)

I hope your answer.

Thanks again

I think that it is the program in charge of making server and client able to communicate with each others.

Try first to check if the client service is running (ps -ef | grep nsrexecd).

It might be a consequence of the DMZ !
