At my organization we use Novell Zenworks PXE to manage our images. In addition to PXE we also can use a bootable CD. This CD runs Suse linux with the 2.6x kernel.
I am doing a little project to see if I can use the disk to snap an image of a Mactel box. The Mac runs the imaging disk perfectly, except for two little issues.
1. The Linux disk doesn't see the NIC, ifconfig shows loopback only, no eth0.
2. The HFS+ partition shows as an unknown type.
I have located the Yukon linux drivers, as well as a driver for HFS+ volumes. As a Linux newbie I am at a loss as to how to add these two things to the bootcd. I know I can use an ISO management utility to update and modify it, but I can't figure out how to get the drivers on and usable. I have a Windows XP box, a Suse desktop 10 box, and a Mactel at my disposal for this.
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.
