Hi.
I installed Mandrake Linux on its own partition next to Win98 a couple of days ago. Everything worked fine till just recently when Windows crashed all the time without any reason. I thought that I maybe should kick out Linux for a while and try it later. However, I thought that I formatted the entire drive, which I found out pretty soon that it was the FAT32-partiton only that where erased. I launched the Mandrake Linux setup-app and formatted the Linux side of the disk too. So far so good, but now when I try to run FDISK to create one FAT32 partition, the app hangs and nothing works. The same happens when I run the Mandrake Setup-app. Is there any friendly soul out there to help me out? Thanks.

It's unlikely in the extreme that your Linux installation caused Windows to start failing - Windows does that pretty well by itself LOL

I would suggest using Partition Magic to repartition the hard disk.

It's strange that DOS fdisk is hanging - does it hang if you use a different boot disk?

Is the hard disk cable plugged in tightly enough?
