Linus Snort Install

Can anyone kindly guide me to the latest install guide to install Snort on my Linux 9 machine along with Apache, MySql, ACID, etc. I tried to download snort rules, but it says I need a subscription. I am a registered user at snort.
Please advice.

All the links I tried for install guides were outdated and the links for downloads didnt work anymore.

Good request, good luck =)
I didnt look at snort.org, but they're as hell supposed to provide install and other instructions, yet they are very open minded. ACID will have its own instructions.

. Mac for productivity
.. Linux for developement
... Windows for solitaire
