I want to know if it is possible to connect the Linksys wireless PCI card WMP54G into the desktop and then remove the small antenna and connect a cable to extend it to an outdoor antenna. Will it access an access point in the next building?

Let me know if anybody has tried this.

Thanks

If you ever do that, the Warranty of the product will be VOID.Instead of using a WMP54g wireless PCI card, you could probably use an Wireless Access Point.

Thanks for the sujjestion. My concern is to save space as well as money as a wireless access point will be costlier than a PCI card. But on a technical point of view do u thing it will catch signals if connected to an external antenna? Or it won't work at all?(if we neglect the warranty just for technical reasons)
