Looks like DSL router (linksys BFSR41) has problems with IPSec? We tried to connect our Firewall w/o Linksys, using third party PPPoe s/w, everything works. But with this router, we SOMETIME again SOMETIME can not access to mail server or browser our remote location's INTRANET..

Any good suggestion from person who experianced this problem, will be greate!!!

Our router firmware is latest..We tried changinh MTU .

Hi,

I recently switch from Direct TV DSL to SBC.
Got myself into so many problems. I'm running
W2K server and hope I dont' have to run any Yahoo, SBC
software on my system. I'm using Speedstream 5360 modem
come with SBC DSL service. I bought myself a Linksys
Broadband Wireless-G router (WRT54G). So far, I able to
connect to the Internet. But the problem is all my
TCP/IP related application like Internet Explorer
or Outlook are all screwed up. First of all, it takes
Windows at least 20 minutes to fully load each reboot.
Everytime I launch application mentioned about like IE,
take a long time and the displays are all screwed up like the words are extremely big. On top of that, none of other
services like DNS or Apache seemed to work right.

Anyone know how to fix this problem or run into the problem before? I pretty much uninstalled everything that come with
SBC software and let the router do all the routing.
I even disable the modem driver since I think the router will take care of that job so the modem is just a gateway out. I even upgrade Windows and reinstall all windows applications but still the problem still there. My other systems that connect directly to the network through the router doesn't have any problem, just the main one that connected to the modem and the router. It's a pain at every reboot is actually the main problem now.

Thank you for all the helps.

Matt,

First of all, thanks for reply to my message.
Yes, I did check the event viewer log which is
always full ever since SBC. Most of the complaints
I'm not sure if it helps though they're somewhat
related. The complaints are "service control manager,
RSVP, SNMP, even DHCPserver."
As for some of Window services like DHCP server, NAT,
routing and DNS. I turned them off when I got the
Linksys router and still don't know whether I should
use that or depend on the Linksys instead?
But most of all, I think the reason Windows and apps
take a long time to start is because it's doing something
with the modem like try to query something from there?
I thought the router is doing all the work and Windows
shouldn't even see the DSL modem at all. There's absolutely
nothing in my system to tell the OS there's an actual
physical device other than the router. Should I put
Enternet(?) or the modem driver back? Doesn't seem to
be problem getting into the Internet w/o that.
I come from Unix background, Solaris so Windows
is like speaking foreign language to me.
Thanks for all the help. If there's any piece of hardware
or software that would helps me, please recommend them as
well. I'm not really happy with being so dependent on this
stupid modem and the router doesn't help much actually.
Again, thanks guys.
