Linksys WRT54GS external adapter won't stay connected

I have a Linksys WRT54GS external adapter that won't stay connected. Sometimes, it will only stay connected for 5 minutes. It doesn't matter if I'm working on the PC or not. It's been a problem since I purchased it (happening once in awhile), but in the last few months has become a constant problem.

I click Connect and get reconnected that way, but it won't stay. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the card and updating the firmware.

Make sure your ap has the latest firmware from the developer and your adapter has the latest driver....

that's somewhere to start
