Help... I used to have broadband via cable service and loved it... I recently had to switch to DSL and am having problems accessing my FTP server over the internet...

History: Cable Modem and WRT54GS worked fine with port forwarding activated... utilized a third party service such as no-ip.com to provide the DNS information to reach the FTP server across the internet... worked fine 100% of the time...

Present: DSL Westell 6100 modem/router with WRT54GS... I have successfully configured both devices to access the internet on all connected devices, using the Westell 6100 in bridge mode, with DNS, DHCP, Firewall all disabled... The WRT54GS is setup to allow access to ports 20 and 21 and forwards to my ftp server (SNAP server)... I can access the server from any machine on the internal network, but not across the internet... My neighbor has an unsecured wireless router :) that I use for testing...

I have spent hours searching the internet, talking to Linksys, and Verizon and figured I would just go talk to the professionals, so here I am... any suggestions...? any info that I left out that may be needed...?

I look in the mirror and what do I see...

Well, according to Verizon, they aren't blocking anything.. funny though, I reset my modem from scratch and didn't put it in bridge mode... everything still works... AND I can now get Port Forwarding to work with one exception... I cannot forward web requests to my web server on Port 80 or 8080... Same snap server can receive the FTP requests across Port 20/21... hmmmmm... head scratcher... checked the port forwarding and it all appears to be set properly... accessing the server via DNS...

What gives, any ideas...?

Thanks
