I have previous experience of D-Link and my experiencs is they are quite demanding to get running. They demand alot of fiddeling installing new firmware.

I'm looking at the WRT54G wireless broadband router and I'm asking the crowd, is it easier to get running?

The WRT54G offers three methods to update firmware. The .exe fashion is easy as can be.

The WRT54G in Pc Magazine testing had a much better range than the D-Link.

The WRT54G outsells the Linksys by a factor of 7 to 1. You should be able to find a lot of support in the Linksys Forums here, and elsewhere. Particularly Good is the DSLR Linksys Forum (they have a good D-Link Forum as well):

Thank you for your valuable post!

I have now purchased and installed the router. The customer choosed not the wireless model.

It seems it is not compatible with Mac OS X? I was using my PowerBook and it kept disconnecting with the MS Messenger.

I think we purchased this model:

I'm currently not at the office...

Is it possible to update the firmware using a Mac OS computer?
