Hello All,

A cousin of mine had wireless set for her computer @ home. Recently she accidentally deleted files from her laptop and hence not able to log on to wireless networking. I tried to help her to connect back to wireless networking. This is what i did. From her other laptop which is the host computer I had taken an USB drive and went to wireless setup wizard under control panel and selected add another computers to add to the current network and the files got transferred to USB which as per instructions i had put in the laptop. I am able to connect to laptop on wireless which is showing signal strength is excellent and 54mpbs. But when I opened the internet explorer it is showing blank page. If i connect ethernet cable to laptop it is working fine. I couldn't figure out where i went wrong. I would appreciate if anyone can throw some light in fixing the problem. I even deleted the existing and tried to add new network using the same name which is on the host and the keys they had with them in form text file. but still i am not able to connect to internet.

Any help in this will be truly appreciated.

Also I am using the windows option to view wireless network. Infact it is the ibm thinkpad but when doubleclick the ibm thinkpad wireless network icon on the taskbar on time side it is showing error and kicking off and hence i am using wireless networking of windows.
Thanks
Sean

Are you using a router or Ad-hoc?

I take it that you are using Win XP?

Check the default gateway for that connection and that it matches the IP addrress of the host or router (Start => run => cmd or cmd.exe => ipconfig (this works for both))
Check that the connection is still shared if using a host Pc
