Linksys Wireless Router Reach

I want to purchase the Linkys wireless WRT54G that I will base in my home office in the basement. My question is will I be able to get some level of wireless connection on the second floor of my house? If not what can I do to boost the signal so I could surf as far as the second floor of the house?

There is no absolute answer to this question. I shoot four floors in my home without issue, but you results may well vary.

There are several third-party firmwares available for the Wrt54g to increase its output power. Wi-fi box is one example:

There are also many replacement antennas available.

Finally, you can add reflectors:

From basement to 1st floor I get 100% transmission with linksys monitoring software. I would like to try another program tough.
