I recently installed a linksys pci wireless card in my desktop. The linksys website provides a linux driver for the card and i have followed all the instructions and the like. By manually bringing up the interface, it will ping sites and stuff so it is going through. But on a reboot of linux, linux locks up at the point where it is checking hard drive sizes. I have a controller card on the PCI running the two hard drives. I am wondering if possibly there is an IRQ sharing violation. I have many devices running on it (zip, several cdrom drives, nic, modem..etc). It works under windows but i know windows does some juggling acts with IRQs.

Any knowledge? --Derek
