I have 2 pc's and a laptop connected to linksys befsr41,running optonline cable modem, all is well. But I want to get a linksys wireless so I can bring the laptop anywhere in house. Can I hook the wirelss router into the wired router and access the internet? Will this connection work?
Thanks in advance.

It works perfectly well.

1. Disable DHCP on the wireless router, and optionally set it to Router instead of Gateway mode;

2. I prefer to give it a static IP. In the default BEFSR41 subnet, give it 192.168.1.2, Subnet 255.255.255.0, with the Gateway address the IP of the BERSR41: 192.168.1.1

3. The WAN port is not used on the wireless router. Use a straight-thru Cat-5 drop cable and go between the Uplink port on one router to a regular LAN port on the other.

A good tutorial:

Well, change of ideas. I just went with the linksys w11s4pc11 wireless. It has 4 slots for cat 5 and will also talk to the wireless card in my laptop. Installed like a charm and works like a champ.
hmmm....now wha tto do with my linksys befsr41 router, guess it will make a nice doorstop..:)

Ebay.
I would keep it. The two best supported products in the Linksys product line are the BEFSR41 and the WRT54G. I would use the new router as explained above just as an access point and keep the BEFSR41.

One powerful reason for this is that it gives you the freedome to place the router in a different location than the BEFSR41, one more likely to help with wireless acdess reception.

oh good call B, I didnt think of that. Although, without some woodworking and cable hiding, it really wont look good with cable running all over the house...
Right now, the house is small, Id guess an average of 20 feet to wireless router, right now the signal is good. If I start to have problems, Ill stick it under the couch !!
