I have seen this subject line so often here it pains me to put it up again. But I must.

I have Mandrake 9.1 with a Linksys WPC11 wireless card. I am so close to having this working, it hurts. But the pain is from not quite getting there.

PROBLEM:
I'm not able to get an IP address and, therefore, do anything valuable on the network.

WIRELESS CONFIG:
Linksys WPC11 ver 1.2 card
Linksys BEFW11S4 v2 access point/router
(the environment is working with other Windoze based laptops using the same card - I've even swapped them)
Router is the DHCP server
Router connected to cable modem
cable modem connected to the arm bone
arm bone connected to the.... oops. Never mind.

QUESTION:
What am I missing? I have the wlan files (wlan_conf and wlancfg_<ssid> configured correctly (I think). I've restarted, rebooted and reloaded.

Thanks in advance...
Leon

Just a thought - have you tried setting up a static IP?

<marc> i wonder what will happen if i press this...[pc][ul][li]please give feedback on what works / what doesn't[/li][li]need some help? how to get a better answer: faq581-3339[/li][/ul]

I actually got it working yesterday after some advice from someone on Scotsnewsletter.com. I'm in the process of documenting the entire experience and posting it here, there, on my blog and everywhere else!

Thanks for the idea, though!
Leon
