I have a Linksys RV042 that I want to enable VPN connections to. I would like to use a VPN client such as the Quick VPN client that comes with the device. How would I go about doing this. I"m open to using another IPSEc VPN client or even the Windows client.

[ol][li]Install the QuickVPN client on a remote computer[/li][li]Go the the VPN client area of the router administration pages & set some credentials[/li][li]start the VPN client software on the remote computer using the credentials mentioned above and the public IP address or name of the RV042 router[/li][/ol]
Hopefully this link will work.

Ok, that sounds a little too simple. But I'll give it a shot.

What type of encryption does this use? IPSEC, LT2P, etc.

Do you know how to make it work with the Cisco VPN Client work with the RV042?

It uses IPSec over SSL. I would think that you could configure a manual connection that would work with the Cisco VPN client, but I've never tried. I know that some people have used the Greenbow VPN client.
