I have been having some serious problems getting two linksys befvp41 v2 routers to do a vpn properly. The tunnel will connect, but I can not ping anything past the lan ip of the remote site router (from either side).

here is a diagram of what i'm trying to do.

(A)XP pro machine, firewall disabled.

(1)BEFVP41 172.17.1.254 (public IP assigned)
|
ADTRAN router provided by ISP, set up as a passthrough.

i need to be able to ping from 1 to B.
currently I can only ping from 1 to 2.

both routers have the laterst linksys firmware, and the VPN tunnel status shows as connected.
Any help or new ideas would be great,
thanks,

Hi,
have you RIP enabled on your Network?

If not you'll need a routing protcol enabled.

Let me know how that goes...

Cheers
