I have read a lot of messages about Linksys VLANs and i think if really is true if anybody could make work it properly...

Well, the typical situation: i have a Linksys Switch SRW2024, i want to create 2 phisical networks, separate, but sharing internet connections.

Schema:
Port 1: R1 ISP (internet) router. In this case, a simple Zyxell DSL router.
Port 2: PC2
Port 3: PC3

I want that PC2 and PC3 connects to the internet (can ping R1), but PC2 cannot pings PC3 and PC3 cannot pings PC2.

I create VLAN1 which belongs Port 1 and port 2, and VLAN2 witch belongs Port 1 and port 3. Port 1 is set to general and ports 2 and 3 are set to Access. All ports are set to untagged.

One cable connects port 1 to the router. Its impossible the two PC's pings R1... whats the problem? i need another router like Cisco router to create subinterfaces, or would possible to goal this only with the Linksys?

Thanks a lot...

You'll need a router that can handle VLAN tagging and have different subnets per VLAN.

You'll want to trunk the port to the router and tag the other ports with the VLAN they should belong to.

Well... i have read if you set per-port VLANs you don't need a router to that... If you set one port (internet port) sharing between both VLANs, it must work fine...

But don't works...
