Linksys RT31P2 networking issue. Port forwarding?

Router: Linksys RT31P2 (Vonage issued)
2 computers connected
Software: FFXI (PC)
OS: WinXP Home

Issue: When connected to this game, I will frequently receive 0 and connection drops.

Troubleshooting steps taken: I've established a static IP on both computers, and arranged port forwarding to allow the necessary ports that FFXI needs opened. The problem persists.
