I want to access my home computer from a dialup ISP using Remote Desktop. My home computer is wireless to a Linksys router on a cable modem. Port 3389 & static IP enabled on router. Terminal & Remote services and Remote Desktop enabled on my XP Pro at home. My dynamic router IP address hardly ever changes. I have connected from one home computer to the desired home computer at home using the internal addresses.
So...my question is....why can't I connect from dialup Remote Desktop when I put in my WAN IP address - for example "69.130.209.132" OR - I've tried "69.130.209.132:3389" ???
Bonus question I have - If three internal LAN computers are connected to this router and each has Remote Desktop enabled, how does client know which one to connect to where a "call" using the WAN address comes in???
Thanks!! Ketchup Man
