This may be a simple question to someone but I'm pulling my hair out. I recently bought a Network Everywhere Linsys router (NRO41) so I can get my two computers both online. I have had an Arescom NetDSL 800 (with MSN internet) for over a year now. Modem works fine, no major problems. The modem has been hooked to my main computer which is running XPhome (all latest updates installed). When I follow the setup cd for hooking up all the wires and stuff I have no internet connection. I really don't know a lot about networking and such so I basiclly went with the factory settings for everything. When the router is hooked up I can get to the routers settings page but I can't go anywhere online. What settings do I need to change in order for it to work? I would really like to avoid calling MSN tech support. (half the time I can't understand them and the other half they treat me like an idiot.) I am very good at following directions and am a quick learner. Please let there be a simple answer. Any help would be wonderfull.

Okay--This problem has been solved (by me). The router and the Asecrom modem both had the IP address of 198.168.1.1 and the modem (or the router) were confused. I changed the routers IP address to 198.168.0.1 and I am able to get on line thru the router. It took a little research but it works. I learned a little about IP address in the process. I hope this helps someone in the future.
