I have a Linksys NR041 router I just installed for the Bellsouth DSL Westell Modem for (2) XP Home machines using IE as browsers on both. I initially set up the router and had to manually enter the DNS into the router settings, instead of it "auto detecting" it to get it to work, as I have in the past with cable broad. netwrk Ive setup in the past. My Web-based email wouldn't work initially(lycos, hotmail etc.) but i got hotmail to work by clearing history, files, cookies, and setting security to default (medium). Lycos still wont work + also I just tried uploading to my website w/ FP'02 using extensions and I'm gettng msgs. stopping me saying server was having connection problems. And it crashes FP after the msg sometimes. Anyone solved this problem yet, or know how? thanks in advance

What model of Westell modem?

It sounds as if you are double NAT'ing. Set the modem to bridge mode, and the router for PPoE. Enter your username and password. Usually this is your first email account and password:

myname@sbc.net
mypassword

Set manually the MTU to 1492 on the router. This should help your Front Page uploads. You may want to Disable Block WAN requests for your email problem. Some require both ICMP and IGMP packets to get through in order to work.

Check your firewall settings on the computers. If using the default XP firewall, disable it.

Set your clients under TCP/IP properties to obtain their address automaticly from the router.
