I have set up a VPN server on my W2K server at home behind a linksys bsfw11s4 vs.2 router. I am connected to Verizon ADSL. 2 NICs one for LAN one for VPN server. I am trying to get access to my home network via the VPN. I have enlisted the help of a friend 100 miles away to experiment, he uses VPN to access the network from his work from home, so has had some success. I have connected to my home network from my companies network, however the connection is so slow as to be useless. My companies' network is behind a cisco router. I am able to connect to work from home, however the speed is like watching paint dry. I can access a 30K excell spread sheet from my home computer, but it takes several minutes. If I attempt to access a larger file ie. a 4meg MP3 the connection will be dropped. My friend was able to make the connection and RAS could see his connection, however he could not see any shares. Obviously I set up an account for him and enabled VPN. If I am being confusing, I am explaining 2 different problems. I think he might be able to see my share if he does a search for \\server\share. I am at a loss however for what the speed issue is when I connect from work to home. Thanks in advance for any help! ker.ner@verizon.net
