linksys befw11s4 router question regarding an ftp server

This is probably a nub question but it has been bugging the hell out of me. I am trying to run an ftp server on home computer so files can be accessed from my work computer. The problem I am running into is that all the ports are forwarded that need to be and the static ip has been set but i can not access the server from an ftp client or any other means for that matter. any tips would be helpful. i have tried 2 different server programs first is fastream netfile server and bulletproof.
