I have a simple situation. I need to connect 2 computers in 2 different houses, both using Cox Cable. They need to access Act2000 and Quickbooks (it is a small home busniess that has the office manager in a remote location).

I want to create a VPN tunnle from the remote (managers) house to access the databases.

The Remote house has a small workgroup using a Linksys router.
I want to place the Linksys BEFVP41 VPN router at the house that has the datbases. Can the remote house establish a VPN connection to the Linksys BEFVP41 VPN and use the databases on the work computer?... There will never need to be a tunnel established the other way.

Is there another way I can go about this?

Would it be easier if I used 2 of the Linksys VPN routers?

Then All I would have to do is create a workgroup with all the computer on both sides of the connection. Correct?

Since I would have the WAN workgroup I would be able to share files, correct?

War Daddy (Visitor):

You might want to look at the thread labeled "Linksys BEFVP41 VPN problems" to see all of the trials and tribulations that people have been having doing exactly what you are asking.

BUT, the short answer is that if using two BEFVP41's, it should work for you.

Hope this helps
