Linksys BEFSR41 V2-Password Into Internet Explorer

I recently setup a new PC with XP. When attempting web access (Earthlink) I get a login screen that appears to be generated from Linksys. I tried using my Earthlink email address and pswd with no luck (pops up another blank and eventually gens an error 401.

I didn't see this password request screen on an older XP-based system. I also don't see that pop-up on the other PC that's still on the router (WIN2000).

Any thoughts on what it's looking for or what I may have setup wrong??

Thanks...

Responding to my own as I found the cause. Turns out that in the Internet Explorer Options, the setting
"Connections/Lan Settings/Advanced" had "Use a proxy server" checked which caused a password request to be generated. I unchecked it and IE launched into my default site immediately.

Hope this helps someone in the future...
