Linksys BEFSR41 Port Forwarding

i am running an FTP on port 21. With DMZ enabled others are able to connect fine, but when i take down DMZ and try to only forward port 21, connections can no longer be established. anyone have a suggestion? thanks

Generally you need more than just port 21. Depending on whether it is Active or Passive FTP, you need port 20 and/or high-order ports open. In the DMZ, all ports are open.
