If you are having problems connecting to a WRT54G or WAP54G, or are losing connection after a few minutes, despite having a strong connection, redo your WEP settings at the client.

Review the WEP key settings on the router. Copy the 26-bit generated key rather than the 13 character ASCII for use on the clients.

Go to the clients an insert the copied 26-bit key. The ASCII key often does not resolve correctly.

Thanks bcastner for your valuable post. Inputting ACSII character never worked, but then I copied and pasted the hex value and it worked. Now my only prob is I can't get internet. I can browse our local network, but can't ping outside IPs?? Can you give my any pointers?

Thanks,

Dan

If your Linksys client software under XP offers a "Bluetooth Compatability" or similar option, disable it.

For XP clients, apply and then reboot:
