Can someone give me some guidance on how to link access to sage.

I need to develop a database that runs a companies purchases and customer management. However this company want to keep the accounts side in Sage Line 50. So I need to import new customers into Sage from the database, or Vice Versa and import order value information from the access db into sage. This way the accountant is happy.

I am looking at developing this db in Access XP Runtime or Access 2k3 Runtime. Unfamiliar with 2003 at the moment.

So I need to know HOW TO ... do the link from access to sage.

for XP and 2003, and any runtime issues anyone wnats to inform me about access 2003... i know there are expression warngins etc.. ut im sure i can get around that.

Thanks in advance everyone.

Hmmm, well a web search showed me something interesting...

Sage is the UK's leading supplier of accounting, payroll and CRM software for small and mid-market companies as well as specialist applications for manufacturing, construction and accountants in practice

Interesting.

Then I looked at support for "Line 50". Was prompted for a login at
Sage support login requried for help and support

Then I checked for ODBC. Seems you are in luck...
Truska Enterprises suggests Sage does support ODBC.
...and
Computerised Business Systems Limited

ODBC, open database connectivity may be the best way to "talk" to Sage from Access. ODBC is usually provided by the vender, and will support most applications trying to link to the vender specific database. For example, a typical example is for the financial controller to link to the database with a spreadsheet program so they can use the spreadsheet for financial analysis.

So I suggest that if no one responds to your post, call up Sage, or the reseller that sold you Sage for suppotr.
