I have a client that uses Outlook and Lotus Notes 6.5.5. They have an application that generates emails with a link to a spreadsheet on a network drive. The guy that developed it, coding the email generation to work with an rtf document as the body of the email for the Notes users and an html body with a hyperlink for the Outlook users. The Outlook link works fine. However, the Notes email was appending:
file://\\networkdrive\file.xsl
This worked ok, in that the file opens, but it opens within a browser within the Notes applicaiton. The user has to click some buttons which updates parts of the sheet. The problem is that the update doesn't save.
Is there anyway to force Notes to open the link with Excel? We can't attach the file to the email, as it has to be a single file on the network.
Any ideas?
