Hello,

Here's the site:
Everything worked fine in FF2 and IE7. When upgrading to FF3 for PC, all the links in the main content and the right column stop responding. What's the deal?

Thanks in advance for your help and expertise.

Better yet, make your #footer clear all the floats. Since main content is floated, #footer actually begins at the top of the page. If you clear the #footer, then it appears where it should be and all the links work.

Ok- clearing the footer worked. So let me get this straight- if a block element is positioned somewhere, it doesn't necessarily matter where the thing is on the screen, what matters is where it would be if it weren't encumbered by other layout elements? Seems a little funny that something would appear right on the screen, but overlap behind the scenes...

You have many elements on the screen that have no borders and no background colour. By looking at the screen, you cannot say for sure if the element is positioned correctly or not. In your case, the footer begins at the top -- however, elements inside had no other place to be but underneath all other content. Your footer (or at least the elements within it) therefore were not only at the bottom, but hovering over the entire page. Since the footer (as a block) was invisible, you could not see this error. If it had borders or background, you would've seen that things on screen do not look correctly.
