Links in messages going to my documents and not to web

When someone sends me an email, with a link when i click on it it takes me to my documents and not to that web page, how do i correct this, so that when i click on links it takes me to the correct website.

Sounds strange. If the link is formatted correctly, I'd start looking for spyware, malware, or virii.
