Links for tutorials

Hey guys.

I'm starting a programming course in college in the Fall and wanted to get a head start on Java.

I downloaded the JS2EE from sun and installed it and even got a hello world working.

I'm having problems finding nice tutorials for beginners to learn the basics of Java 2.

Also, I ran my java via the command prompt and it loaded Hello World exactly as perl would have displayed it. Is there another way to run Java, like in an external program window?
