Hello,
The company I work for has a dbase that uses table links to connect to data on their SQL server. Using Access forms, data on the server is updated. It works fine.
A week ago, however, the forms would not update the data. When we opened the links directly, the data was suddently read-only. The problem was with the links since the data could still be edited directly on the server.
Links in a backup copy of the dbase still worked correctly. We then copied the links from the backup into the current dbase. Once completed, they too reverted to read-only.
Finally, we decided to use a copy of the backup and import all new data into it. This worked.
My questions: why would the links convert to read-only? Why would copying link convert it to read-only? The links had been working for over a year before this happened.
Any thoughts?
