Could a PPP connection be established via the internet between remote LANS

I have two remote LANS both connected to the internet. The regular frame-relay connection is down. I was thinking maybe I could link the remote LANS via a PPP connections over the internet. My experience has been limited to PPP via a dial up modem. Is this concept possible ?

I just need a temporary solution to connect the remote LAN to my central office via a network routable connection via the internet. Security is not a main concern at the moment, connectivity is.

HI.
I think using a ppp is not the option you should be looking for. the best way to do it is by way of pptp(VPN) once you have them two nodes conected to the internet(with static Ip address, i suppose)the can be tunnel though pptp.
