linking two bcm 50s together

it shows that the systems are connected. i have a voice path in only one direction i call in the other direction the phone rings but when i answer no voice same thing happens if the voice mail picks up just dead ai
 
Sounds like one link is on a Public IP and the other end is NATed or firewalled...you are running into an RTP packet issue between the two, I think...

check your default gateways. Thay's usually where these kinds of problems wind up being.
 
I wouldn't think DFGW problem if the other side is ringing.

OP, you should spell out the networking conditions you have if you would like us to troubleshoot for you.
 
It's going to be default gateway. The path for signalling is different than audio. Signalling involves the BCM while audio does not. Once the call is established, the path for the IP packets is from one set directly to the other. BCM has nothing to do with it. That's why you can call the set and have one-way audio. Check the default gateway settings for the devices at end that cannot hear.
 
I agree with the setup and handoff...but I still think it's a NAT issue...it's easy to port forward data packets but the RTP packets are not so easy to manage
