linking two bcm 50s togeather

my systems are connected through a vpn, all of the ports that should be opened are . i can complete a call from the south location to the north location. and i can pull dial tone from the north location at the south location. but when try and call from the north to the south there is no voice path. the software ver at the north location is 6.0.2.05.237 and the ver at the south location is 1.00.2.04.j . i did notice a differnce between the two when setting up the gateway in telephoney resouces the older ver doesnt have the same choices for gateway type. just dont know what i am missing

Do you have the MCDN key code at both locations?
