Hello, what I want to do is to be able to click by "buttons" and have the "selection" come up within an an area on the same page. Never changing my header or my buttons. is this possible? Thanks

Frameset!

Totally possible - there are several ways to do it to...

1) You can have a movie made up of many frames - your header and buttons are in their own layers on the timeline, these layers are present in every frame of the timeline. The buttons activate gotoAndStop() actions which move you to different keyframes each one of which carries some different extra content.

2) You have a smaller movie (perhaps with only one frame on the main timeline) and your buttons load other movies and/or movieclips into the empty space not occupied by your header.

3) If your content is just text you can use the buttons to load new content into an empty dynamic textbox - you can use HTML formated text to spice things up a little.
