Hi, I'm working on a project were I need to link an Access 2007 front end to Oracle tables. When trying to link to the production tables through Oracle 8.5, I can link some tables but not all. For those that I can't I get a message stating that the database engine could not find the object "XXX". Make sure the object exists and that you spelled its name and path name correctly" I know for sure that it exists!!! Why succesfull with some tables and not the others??

When testing using Oracle 9.02, it all works perfectly.

Has anyone heard or experienced this problem and found the causal factor?

thanks for your help in advance

Martin

The object names contain characters or of a length or number of fields that Access doesn't like. If my WAG isn't correct, you might want to provide additional information.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. it looks like it was an issue between nvar and var on the oracle db side. in any case, we decided to continue with the Oracle 9.02 connector with a work around rsther then continue with the trouble shooting and modify a large number of tables.

thanks for your reply the other day!
